John Howard in Singapore and Indonesia

From The Jajarta Post (Feb 2), "Australia's John Howard in Singapore for tsunami talks":
SINGAPORE (DPA): Australian Prime Minister John Howard participated in a wreath-laying ceremony Tuesday at a war memorial and then held talks with his Singapore counterpart on tsunami relief efforts in Indonesia's ravaged Aceh province.

Howard, who arrived late Monday in Singapore, made his first stop the Kranji War Memorial, where more than 1,000 Australians killed in world wars I and II are buried.

He plans to travel Wednesday to Indonesia's provincial capital of Banda Aceh to meet with Australian troops and civilians working in relief efforts and to discuss implementation of theUS$775 million Australia has promised in disaster assistance, Howard said in a statement...

Howard said he hoped to gain insights into how Australia could work with Indonesian authorities during the next phase of relief work, when he held discussions with Foreign Minister Hassan Wirayuda and Coordinating Minister for Peoples' Welfare Alwi Shihab.
