Mixing aid with preaching...and problems thereof
There has been several remarks from some quarters about Christian relief organisations involved in the tsunami effort harboring ulterior motives, i.e., proselytising, and the problem that poses (see e.g., here).
So far, I have not really found occasion to comment on this phenomenon here. And being a Christian myself, I wanted to tread carefully--to be true both to my firm convictions while doing justice to legitimate concerns raised by non-Christians.
Meanwhile, my wife has been doing some basic research and has just written two posts on another blog we share--Ripostes ("Christian Tsunami Relief: good works with good news...bad?" and "Simply because it is Christian to nurse the sick") which might interest some of you.
